FASHION MERCHANDISING AND ITS HISTORY, THE MORDEN ERA
2009
The dawn of the 17th century saw the arrival of the modern era where changes were felt in almost every aspect of life in the whole world. The modern era was indeed the era of great manifestations of all the still born ideas of the renaissance era. Every sphere of life experienced a great boost including the sector of fashion merchandizing.

The modern era saw the arrival of various fashion products. It was the period of preponderance of all kinds of fashion accessories; the shoes, watches, jewelries, handbags, and others. This was the period of the great designers who invented some of the fashion products and also founded their various little shops which later became great renowned companies. For instance, most inventors of wrist watches like Carlo Crocco and Eduaord Heuer invented the Hublot and Tag Heuer watches respectively with their little shops swung into action to sell the products. Again people like Louis Vuitton and Gucci designed wonderful handbags which they named after themselves. They also established little shops where the products were sold. Hence, we can therefore say that the idea of fashion merchandising actually began with these fashion designers who produced their various fashion products and also devised a way to market them through the little shops they established.
Indeed, fashion merchandising actually became a reality during the modern era. As great inventors produced more fashion products, the desire to market them kept increasing. Other people who are not inventors hence took over the selling part of those products manufactures. Many people got employed in some of those shops that eventually became big companies later.
In all, the modern era was actually the period where fashion merchandizing took a new turn. It was indeed a wonderful period on inventions.
